An association between two online entities or users. In social networks, when two people are linked, this is a connection. Connections may be business or personal. Different social networks use a different term for a connection: Facebook calls them Friends, LinkdIn calls them Connections, Twitter calls them Followers, etc. Depending on the social network, connected users are allowed to view various aspects of the others profile.
